
Become a Pilot
Private Pilot
Requirements
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
- Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate
- Receive a minimum of 40 hours of flight time including training and solo flight
- Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test


Instrument Rating
Requirements
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
- Have at least 50 hours of Pilot in Command Cross Country
- 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument conditions (20 of which can be accomplished in our Redbird Flight Simulator)
- Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test
Commercial Pilot
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
- Obtain at least a current second-class medical certificate
- Have a minimum of 250 hours of flight time (50 of which can be accomplished in our Redbird Flight Simulator)
- Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test

Certified Flight Instructor

Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a commercial pilot certificate
- Hold an instrument rating (for helicopter CFI)
- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
- Obtain at least a current second-class medical certificate
- Have logged at least 250 hours and the required training for the CFI rating per FAA regulations
- Pass 2 knowledge tests as well as the practical test
