TTexas Aviation Academy is currently finishing up the maintenance required to make the Yak airworthy again. It is projected to be ready to fly by late spring 2020.
The Yak-52 aircraft was initially designed for military pilot training. A much loved and very capable aircraft offering an impressive +7/-5g and intermediate aerobatic capability. The Yak-52 is defined as a complex aircraft; with its 360hp 9-Cylinder M14-P radial engine, retractable gear and variable pitch propeller.
TAA is in the process of restoring a Messerschmitt ME-208. It is projected to be completed by the summer of 2020.
The Messerschmitt ME-208 is a development of the Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun with retractable tri-cycle landing gear. During the occupation of France, the production line for the Bf 108 was transferred in 1942 to the plant of Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Nord in Les Mureaux of occupied France. SNCAN has produced two prototypes of the Messerschmitt ME-208. After the liberation of France, the designation was changed to Nord 1100 Noralpha.
